My article last Sunday – luridly titled “Guns Don’t Kill People? The Hell They Don’t!” - proposed that we, the people, should step up and demand a ban on assault weapons in the wake of the Aurora massacre. Well, I got what my headline probably deserved, a barrage of enlightenments, objections and criticisms - some pretty bombastic! - that considerably outnumbered supportive comments.
So here’s an experiment. I’ll state both sides as honestly and directly as I am able, regular type for one side and italics for the other ... and seek the help of good Daily Kos commentors to make all sides more understandable and more persuasive, as an enlightened discussion on a set of polarizing issues should be.
